On a recent episode of "Real Time" with Bill Maher, Scott Galloway, clinical professor of marketing at the New York University Stern School of Business, had a comical take on the cause of the pro-Palestine protests sweeping across American Universities. From the New York Post:
He said that college campuses were increasingly becoming reminiscent of Nazi Germany — and attributed the reason partly to young people not having enough sex.

"We need to enjoy sex," Galloway offered to some initial confusion during an appearance on "Real Time" with Bill Maher Friday.

"I think part of the problem is young people aren't having enough sex so they go on the hunt for fake threats and the most popular threat through history is [antisemitism]."
Yes, it has nothing to do with Israel's genocidal rampage.
Galloway appeared on the show with former CNN host Don Lemon — who later told The Post he was inclined to agree with the observation.
Well there you have it, if Don Lemon says it's true, it must be.
"It would definitely take the edge off," Lemon chimed in by phone.
Later in another interview with CNN Galloway restated what he believes accounts for the astronomical growth in the anti-Israel protests around the world. He claimed that people are conflating what's going on in Gaza with the Civil Rights movement.

I mean, it boggles the mind, what does the 1960s American civil rights movement have to do with what's going on in Gaza!?

Basic human rights for Palestinians? Who cares, they aren't really humans anyway. Systematic racial discrimination and violence? So what, they're all terrorists. Basic human needs for food, water and shelter not being met? That's ideal, given that the end goal is to starve them and steal their land.

A moderate Florida House Democrat said Sunday that there is "no way" his party is going to help Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) oust Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) if the Georgia republican forces a vote to vacate the speakership for the second time this term.

During an appearance Sunday, April 28, on MSNBC's The Weekend, Rep. Jared Moskowitz, the Florida Democrat, said Ms. Greene is unlikely to get support from Democrats this time, after they helped a handful of Republicans oust former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) in October.

In response to what he thought about the effort to remove Mr. Johnson, Mr. Moskowitz said:
"I mean, look, obviously we'll wait for our Leader Jeffries to figure out that solution. But I've said this before, and I think there are other members who feel the same way: The idea of allowing Marjorie Taylor Greene, someone who literally, you know, would let the world burn, you know, with her isolationist foreign policy, who has talked about states seceding from the union, right?

"The idea of letting her sit in the people's house, in the well of Congress, giving a speech, removing any Speaker and having that powerful moment. There is just no way Democrats are going to let her do that. I'm not going to let her do that.

"We won't even let her name a post office. We're not going to let her take out the Speaker."
Mr. Moskowitz explained that the ultimate decision would be up to House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) regarding whether the party would support Mr. Johnson if it came to a vote.

Comment: Out of all the imploding crises from which to choose, the House is doing this.

A volley from an Israel Defence Forces (IDF) tank into a building in Gaza where IDF reservists were taking cover killed two and injured two others, an internal investigation has reportedly found.

Israel launched its massive offensive in the densely-populated Palestinian enclave following the deadly October 7 incursion by Hamas militants, which claimed the lives of an estimated 1,200 Israelis, mostly civilians. Israel's retaliatory ground operation and air bombardments have so far killed more than 34,000 people, according to Gaza authorities.

The troops were killed on Sunday in a so-called friendly fire incident, the Times of Israel reported on Tuesday, citing an IDF probe.

According to the newspaper, in the run-up to the deadly shelling, a detachment of Israeli troops had been ambushed by Hamas militants along one of the key routes traversing the enclave. In the ensuing exchange of fire, an Israeli tank fired a round at an area that had been designated as off-limits by IDF commanders.

Comment: FYI: there was no 'friendly' fire. The intent was to kill.

A clip of the comedian being interviewed by The New Yorker circulated across social media Sunday.

Several conservative pundits praised Jerry Seinfeld this week after he garnered criticism online for suggesting political correctness is killing comedy.

The online discourse began after a clip of the comedian, who starred in and co-created the popular '90s sitcom "Seinfeld," circulated across social media on Sunday. During an interview with The New Yorker, Seinfeld suggested the era of golden comedy no longer exists.

"It used to be you would go home at the end of the day, most people would go, 'Oh, 'Cheers' is on," he told the publication. "'Oh, 'M.A.S.H.' is on, oh, 'Mary Tyler Moore' is on. ... You just expected, there'll be some funny stuff we can watch on TV tonight. Well, guess what? Where is it? This is the result of the extreme left and PC crap, and people worrying so much about offending other people."

Comment: Sounds like sour grapes from Deggans that Seinfeld and other stand-ups have managed to escape the woke dragnet. Mr. Seinfeld is exactly on point. Many other legends of comedy agree

A recent poll found that 71 percent of U.S. citizens were dissatisfied with the Biden administration's handling of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The anti-war protests at over 30 American universities and colleges were going on Thursday, with further discontent sparked by the police's heavy-handed enforcement. According to the latest tally by The Associated Press, over 2,000 people have been arrested nationwide.

On Thursday, more than 200 people were arrested at a pro-Palestinian protest camp on campus, after refusing to leave the area as requested, according to the police at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

At 6 p.m. on Wednesday, authorities declared the camp an unlawful assembly and ordered demonstrators to leave. The university said that any students remaining in the camp could face disciplinary actions, up to expulsion, while university staff could face termination. After a standoff of about nine hours, hundreds of riot police began making arrests.

Comment: The crackdown came amidst commentary by Netanyahu that the US, basically, needed to curtail the right to free speech with regards to condemnation of Israel.

What's perhaps also notable about these protests is that, whilst the shocking response of the authorities may indeed be intended to quickly quell the growing protest movement, when one considers previous protests - such as Occupy and BLM - such a response often serves to have the opposite effect.

Huge fire engulfs Diehl metals and defense factory in Germany

Today, a fire broke out at the Diehl Metal Applications plant in the Lichterfelde district on the southwest outskirts of Berlin. The facility conducts metal refining and galvanization, Bild reports.

The fire engulfed all four floors of the building, with parts already collapsed. 130 firefighters are working at the scene, wearing protective suits.

Firefighters reported that sulfuric acid and copper cyanide were stored at the plant, and a chemical fire occurred. There is a risk of forming hydrogen cyanide, which rises into the air along with the smoke. The wind is spreading the toxic cloud to the north. Firefighters recommended that residents avoid the area around the plant, close windows and doors, and turn off air conditioners. Students from nearby schools have been sent home. Nearby stores are closed.

"You need meat, OK? We're going to have meat in Florida," DeSantis said during a press conference.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has made a name for himself backing culture-war-focused legislative proposals that have taken aim at everything from Disney to college professors' academic freedom. However, DeSantis has a new target in his sights: lab-grown meat.

Last Friday, DeSantis came out in support of Florida legislation that would ban the sale of lab-grown meat in the state.

"I know the Legislature's doing a bill to try to protect our meat. You need meat, OK? We're going to have meat in Florida," DeSantis said during a Friday press conference.
"We're going to have fake meat? That doesn't work. We're going to make sure to do it right. But there's a whole ideological agenda that's coming after, I think, a lot of important parts of our society."

Comment: DeSantis has signed the bill. Fox13 reports:
Governor DeSantis signed a bill outlawing the sale and manufacturing of lab-grown meat at a press conference in Hardee County on Wednesday.

DeSantis spoke at the Hardee County Cattleman's Arena in Wauchula where he signed Senate Bill 1084 into law. SB 1084 makes several changes within the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, namely prohibiting the manufacture, sale, holding, or distribution of 'cultivated meat' in Florida.

In addition to the ban on lab-grown meat, the bill preempts local governments from regulating electric vehicle charging stations. It also will increase criminal penalties for people who commit crimes on Florida farms.


"In the State of Florida, we've put down the marker very clearly: we stand with agriculture," DeSantis said. "We stand with the cattle ranchers. We stand with our farmers. Because we understand it's important for the backbone of the state, it's important for the culture, it's important for our heritage."

A second Boeing whistleblower has died in the span of two months

Boeing whistleblower and former Spirit AeroSystems quality auditor Joshua 'Josh' Dean (45) died on Tuesday morning, his family have confirmed. He is the second Boeing whistleblower to pass away in the span of two months.

Dean was fired from Spirit AeroSystems (one of Boeing's main suppliers) shortly after alleging management ignored complaints of serious manufacturing quality defects on the Boeing 737 Max. He then filed an official complaint with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) alleging "serious and gross misconduct by senior quality management".

"After I was fired, Spirit AeroSystems [initially] did nothing to inform the FAA and the public," he wrote in his initial complaint.

Comment: It may be that "there's nothing to see here," and Mr. Dean's death is a personal tragedy for his family. But nonetheless, it's still right convenient for Boeing, isn't it?

Czech police drop alleged Russian bombing case

Investigators say they could not gather enough evidence to charge the suspects accused of blowing up multiple arms warehouses

Police in the Czech Republic have shelved a probe into the destruction of ammunition warehouses that took place ten years ago. Despite all of their leads turning up cold, the investigators maintain that Russian military intelligence blew up the structures.

The explosions occurred in October and December 2014 at arms depots in Vrbetice in the south of the country, killing two Czech nationals. Prague said at the time that the warehouses had been storing ammunition that was to be sent to Ukraine. The authorities claimed that Russia sent operatives to destroy the consignment in an attempt to disrupt the shipment.

In April 2021, the Czech Republic expelled 18 Russian diplomats over the incident, a move to which Russia responded in kind.

Comment: Rinse and repeat. Follow the pattern. If not the Russians...who could it be?

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration will move to reclassify marijuana as a less dangerous drug, The Associated Press has learned, a historic shift to generations of American drug policy that could have wide ripple effects across the country.

The proposal, which still must be reviewed by the White House Office of Management and Budget, would recognize the medical uses of cannabis and acknowledge it has less potential for abuse than some of the nation's most dangerous drugs. However, it would not legalize marijuana outright for recreational use.

The agency's move, confirmed to the AP on Tuesday by five people familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive regulatory review, clears the last significant regulatory hurdle before the agency's biggest policy change in more than 50 years can take effect.

Once OMB signs off, the DEA will take public comment on the plan to move marijuana from its current classification as a Schedule I drug, alongside heroin and LSD. It moves pot to Schedule III, alongside ketamine and some anabolic steroids, following a recommendation from the federal Health and Human Services Department. After the public comment period and a review by an administrative judge, the agency would eventually publish the final rule.

Comment: Should marijuana users bother to vote, it is perhaps +Biden. If not, the next White House occupant will inherit the consequences of +usage.
