DOJ admits to tampering with evidence in Trump classified docs case

donald trump on trial
"Stunning on multiple levels":

Special Counsel Jack Smith's team admitted on Friday that key evidence in Trump's classified documents case was altered or manipulated - leaving two different chronologies; one that was digitally scanned vs. what's in the actual boxes.

Smith also misled the court, after originally telling U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon that the boxes remained "in their original, intact form as seized," when in a footnote they conceded that they removed classified documents and left placeholder sheets, which prosecutors acknowledged has created an "inconsistent" record - in which some of the documents are no longer in the same order as they appear in digital scans made in the fall of 2022.

"The Government acknowledges that this is inconsistent with what Government counsel previously understood and represented to the Court," the footnote reads, according to Just the News.

Token gesture: Biden puts hold on approved shipments of ammo to Israel

biden netanyahu
U.S. President Joe Biden and Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
The Biden administration has halted a shipment of ammunition previously approved to aid Israel in its war efforts with Hamas.

This suspension of munition delivery is the first of its kind since the beginning of the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas last October, when Hamas attacked Israel, murdering 1,200, and Israel launched a full-scale retaliation. According to two Israeli officials who spoke to Axios, the ammunition shipment was stopped last week.

The White House has yet to officially comment on the decision.

In April, Nancy Pelosi and other Democratic representatives issued a signed letter that called on Biden to halt the sale of weapons to Israel, even as they encourage munitions to be sent to Ukraine. The lawmakers called it "unjustifiable" to approve weapons transfers to Israel after an Israeli airstrike that inadvertently killed several humanitarian workers

Comment: Biden's floundering campaign is uppermost in the minds of his handlers. Given the unrest across US. campuses over the Palestinian genocide, it seems that he's been advised to throw them a bone.

Empire lackey: Czech government wants to ban Russian diplomats from traveling across the bloc

Many Russian diplomats are "spies," Prague believes, according to news outlet Der Spiegel

Russian diplomats should be confined to their destination countries within the EU and not allowed to move freely around the bloc, the Czech government has argued, according to Der Spiegel. Prague regards Moscow's diplomatic staff as "spies" probing for potential weaknesses in the bloc, the German outlet reported on Saturday, citing official documents.

The Czech authorities have been seeking to restrict freedom of movement for Russian diplomats since at least last summer, the article claims. The nation's foreign minister, Jan Lipavsky, reportedly revisited the issue last month during an EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Luxembourg.

"Espionage and propaganda are the main tasks of many Russian diplomats in the EU," according to a document presented by Prague earlier the same month in Brussels, according to Der Spiegel. The list of alleged activities of Russian diplomatic mission staffers reportedly includes "logistics for sabotage and acts of terrorism."

Comment: The Czech Republic is one of the Empire's chihuahuas; obnoxious, but easily disregarded.

Moscow ridicules Zelensky's claim about God and Ukraine

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has apparently lost touch with reality, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova suggested after the Ukrainian President described God as Kiev's "ally" in the conflict with Moscow.

On Sunday, as Orthodox Christians celebrated Easter, Zelensky issued a video address in which he accused Moscow of "violating all the commandments," claiming that "God knows it."

"We believe [that] God ... wears a chevron with a Ukrainian flag on his shoulder," the president stated, referring to the higher power as Kiev's "ally," who would guarantee Ukraine victory in the ongoing standoff.

Zakharova ridiculed the statement, suggesting it was the result of a "drug overdose."

The Biden administration last week halted a shipment of US-made ammo that was slated to go to Israel — a decision that reportedly sent members of the Israeli government into a tizzy as they tried to figure out why the delivery has been withheld.

The move marks the first time since Hamas' deadly Oct. 7 terrorist attack that the United States has hit the brakes on a weapons shipment to its longtime Middle East ally, according to Axios, which learned of the decision from two Israeli officials.

When questioned, a White House National Security Council spokesperson told Fox News that the administration has supported Israel since Hamas' assault, which left 1,200 Israelis dead.
"The United States has surged billions of dollars in security assistance to Israel since the October 7 attacks, passed the largest ever supplemental appropriation for emergency assistance to Israel, led an unprecedented coalition to defend Israel against Iranian attacks, and will continue to do what is necessary to ensure Israel can defend itself from the threats it faces."
Neither the Pentagon, the state department nor the Israeli Prime Minister's Office immediately responded to questions from Axios, the outlet said.

Georgia accuses Washington of trying to spark 'two revolutions'

Washington has backed two "revolution attempts" in Georgia over the past years, the nation's prime minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, said on Saturday. A successful coup would have turned the former Soviet state into another bridgehead used to open "the second front" against Moscow, he warned.

The statements came as Kobakhidze discussed the present American attitude toward recent developments in his nation with Derek Chollet, the counselor of the US State Department, the prime minister said on X (formerly Twitter). Washington's current rhetoric reminds him of previous "false" statements made by US officials that had already led to "violence," he added.
"Two revolution attempts of 2020-2023 [were] supported by the former US Ambassador and those carried out through NGOs financed from external sources. Had these attempts been successful, the second front line would have been opened in Georgia."
The prime minister did not specify which specific events he was referring to. Georgia has seen several waves of massive protests, in which demonstrators demanded the government's resignation or early elections, and eventually descended into violence.

Japan upset over Biden's 'xenophobia' claim

Japan has pushed back against US President Joe Biden's claim that Tokyo's economic woes stem from a national dislike of foreigners, putting the remarks down to a lack of knowledge, Jiji news agency has reported.

On Wednesday, speaking at a fundraiser in Washington, Biden argued that the US has been able to sustain its economic growth by embracing immigration:
"Why is China stalling so badly economically? Why is Japan having trouble? Why is Russia? Why is India? Because they're xenophobic. They don't want immigrants."
Biden's comments came several weeks after he heaped praise on the close relationship with Japan, a key US ally in the Indo-Pacific.

The White House has sought to downplay the controversy, with national security spokesman John Kirby saying the president wanted to make a point about America's immigrant "DNA," and not insult other countries. He added that US partners are well aware that Biden values their friendship and cooperation.

Comment: Ditch the placation to cover for Biden's gross insults and false accusations. Unplug his mic.

Israeli military sources estimate that Hamas will not be decisively defeated in Gaza until 2026 or 2027, even as Hamas reasserts civilian control of the largely destroyed city of Khan Yunis following the army's withdrawal, Israeli media reported on 4 May.

Sources speaking with Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth said, "We will not be in Gaza permanently. We'll return for extensive raids deep into the territory to defeat a terror army built over 15 years."

The sources add that "Meanwhile, the achievements of the forces that fought in Gaza are eroding, and there's no conclusive political solution."

Recent statements by politicians in some NATO states have sparked a new "unprecedented round of tension," spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has said

Russia has decided to hold tactical nuclear weapons drills in response to certain NATO countries' remarks about potentially sending troops to Ukraine, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has said.

Earlier on Monday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced plans to test its ability to deploy the arms. The exercise will be conducted "in the near future" and was ordered by President Vladimir Putin, the ministry said.

6 May, 2024 11:06 Western leaders are 'infantile morons' - Medvedev
The US and its allies need a reminder of the nuclear risk posed by the Ukraine conflict, Dmitry Medvedev believes

The US, the UK, France and other Western nations should take a Russian nuclear drill as a reminder of where escalation of the Ukraine conflict could take them, former President Dmitry Medvedev has said.

On Monday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced an imminent exercise to test the capability to deploy non-strategic nuclear weapons. It said the training was ordered by President Vladimir Putin after "provocative statements and threats" by Western officials.

Medvedev, who serves as deputy head of the Russian Security Council, referred to debates in the West about possible deployment of NATO troops to Ukraine, as well as "active encouragement [of Kiev] to use [Western] missile weapons against the entire Russian territory" as grounds for the drill.

Russia "will have to respond" to the proposed deployment of Western soldiers, "and this response will not be" in Ukraine, the Russian official warned. In that case "there will be no hiding on Capitol Hill, in the Elysee Palace or at 10 Downing Street."

The situation is comparable to the Cuban missile crisis of 1962, according to Medvedev. He said current Western elites were "infantile morons" who refuse to see the risk, unlike US President John F. Kennedy and Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev, who managed to walk back the escalation six decades ago.

French President Emmanuel Macron has been advocating "strategic ambiguity" regarding Ukraine, maintaining that he could not exclude deployment of troops to the country under certain conditions. Multiple Western leaders said they had no intention to send their soldiers to fight Russia on Ukraine's behalf, after he voiced his idea in February.

Macron's rhetoric may be explained by his ambition to make France the leader among EU members, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has suggested.

UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron told Reuters last week that Kiev "has the right" to use British-provided missiles to strike targets deep inside Russia.

For years, major Western arms donors were reportedly conditioning their aid on Kiev's pledge not to use the weapons outside of the territory that it claims. US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink said American policy remained unchanged following Cameron's remark.

On Sunday, Democratic House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries claimed that "there's a significant likelihood that America will have to get into the conflict - not simply with our money, but with our servicewomen and our servicemen" in the event of Ukrainian defeat.

A victorious Russia would pose a threat to NATO, he reasoned during an interview with CBS News, repeating the case for continued aid made by the Biden administration for months. Moscow has said it has no intention of starting a direct conflict with the US-led military bloc.

Russia will test its ability to deploy tactical nuclear weapons, the Defense Ministry announced on Monday. The drill will be conducted "in the near future" and was ordered by President Vladimir Putin, the statement said.

Missile forces of the Southern Military District will be directly involved in the exercise. It will also require the participation of military aircraft and the Russian Navy, the ministry said.

Macron calls for EU nuclear force
The French president has previously called to show that the EU is not a "vassal" of the US

France must open a debate on building up a pan-European defense capability, to include rethinking its own nuclear potential, French President Emmanuel Macron has said.

Speaking to a group of young people at the European School in Strasbourg on Friday, Macron stressed that while France is already protected by NATO, it "must now go further" to ensure its security and "build a credible European defense."

He noted that guaranteeing that security "may mean deploying anti-missile shields" to be able to deter the use of nuclear weapons. "Being credible also means having long-range missiles that would deter the Russians," he added.

Numerous Western leaders have insisted on boosting defense capabilities amid the Ukraine conflict, citing fears that Russia could attack NATO within a few years.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, however, has dismissed such speculation as "nonsense," pointing to the fact that the US, NATO's largest contributor, spends ten times more on defense than Moscow. He has also stated that current geopolitical tensions are largely due to NATO's decision to ignore Russian security interests.

Explaining his stance on nuclear weapons, Macron went on to say that while France would use its arsenal only if its vital interests were threatened, those interests also have a wider dimension. This means that French nuclear doctrine should contribute to the credibility of the EU's defense, he said.

"I am in favor of opening this debate, which must therefore include anti-missile defense, long-range weapon firing, nuclear weapons for those who have them or who have American nuclear weapons on their soil," the president stated.

For several years, Macron has also advocated creating a "true, European army" to be able to independently strengthen continental security. This month, he also warned that "our Europe today is mortal and it can die" while calling for a "strategic autonomy" for the EU, particularly in terms of military production. The bloc "must show that it is never a vassal of the United States," he said.

The idea of creating a joint EU army, however, has met strong pushback both in Brussels and in EU capitals. EU top diplomat Josep Borrell suggested last month that while the bloc should aspire to boost the military capabilities of its individual members, that does not mean it should create a common army.

Several EU states, including Denmark and Poland, have similarly signaled that they want their security guaranteed within the existing NATO framework.

In an interview with the French daily La Tribune on Saturday, Macron, who has famously refused to rule out sending Western troops to Ukraine, once again advocated a policy of "strategic ambiguity" towards Russia, arguing that the key idea behind such an approach is to project strength while "not giving too many details."

Describing Russia as "an adversary," the French president stressed that establishing "a priori limits" would be interpreted as weakness. "We must remove all visibility from it, because that is what creates the ability to deter," he argued.

NATO using war games to 'prepare for conflict' - Moscow
The Steadfast Defender drills, featuring some 90,000 troops from all 32 NATO member states and 1,100 combat vehicles, started in late January and will end in May.
Since several incidents in Europe and the US have previously occurred at the time of a drill, the nervousness in Russia is explainable. Moreover, Russia celebrates Victory Day (WWII victory over National Socialist Germany) on May 9th, which could be a great opportunity for disruption.

White House spokesman John Kirby on Tuesday declined to discuss the nuclear capabilities of the F-16 fighters but noted that U.S. President Joe Biden has been consistent that he does not want to see the war escalate, certainly not into the nuclear realm.

4) The Wiki on tactical nuclear weapons
A tactical nuclear weapon (TNW) or non-strategic nuclear weapon (NSNW)[1] is a nuclear weapon that is designed to be used on a battlefield in military situations, mostly with friendly forces in proximity and perhaps even on contested friendly territory.
[...]
The yield varies for a tactical nuclear weapon from a fraction of a kiloton to approximately 50 kilotons.[7] In comparison, a strategic nuclear weapon has a yield from 100 kilotons to over a megaton, with much larger warheads available.[7]
For comparison here is a conversion between the Richter Scale in terms of TNT with comments on what the larger numbers mean in terms of kilotons
Richter Tons of TNT Explosion

1 0.0005
2 0.0151
3 0.4769
4 15.0802
5 476.8791 This is half a kiloton of TNT
6 15.0802 * 103 This is 15 kilotons of TNT
6.5 84.8024 * 103 This is 85 kilotons of TNT
The above table describes the energy released, but since less energy is transferred to the ground by a hot exploding nuclear weapon than during an earthquake, the actual earthquake from a bomb that hits the earth should be less.

5) This source has:
The United States has about 200 tactical nuclear gravity bombs with explosive yields adjustable between 0.3 and 170 kilotons. (The yield of the Hiroshima bomb was 15 kilotons.) The Pentagon deploys about 100 of those bombs, called the B61, in five European countries: Italy, Germany, Turkey, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
Among the tactical nuclear are the Neutron bombs:
Technically speaking, every low-yield nuclear weapon is a radiation weapon, including non-enhanced variants. All nuclear weapons up to about 10 kilotons in yield have prompt neutron radiation[2] as their furthest-reaching lethal component. For standard weapons above about 10 kilotons of yield, the lethal blast and thermal effects radius begins to exceed the lethal ionizing radiation radius.[11][12][13] Enhanced radiation weapons also fall into this same yield range and simply enhance the intensity and range of the neutron dose for a given yield.
